The hotel has been built with a lot of love and care. You can see it in every nook and corner and the fine details. The local culture has been beautifully blended into modern hospitality and amenities. Either has not been sacrificed for the other. The cuisine is excellent and the hotel staff is courteous and well mannered mirroring the hospitality and warmth of the Gurung people.

The stunning locale along with Lachin’s infectious smile will surely go a long way in making Rock and Mud a household name in the annals of Nepal’s hospitality history. I wish everyone the best.

Our family stayed at Hotel Rock Mud Ghandruk in June and it was magnificent. The rooms are large and well appointed with all cotton modern linens, soft pillows, dreamy drapes and and very comfortable beds. The bathroom/showers are en suite. When I was younger I worked in management at a five star boutique hotel in Charleston, SC so I know quality and this was wonderful especially for a 1,000+ year old village in the Himalayas. Our family made this hotel the destination. It was a great base for day trips and one nighters. We stayed 10 days taking walks in the village each day as well as an overnight excursion to Jhinu Hot Springs. The teenagers could roam the village alone and on rainy days feeling lazy we had a great view from the cafe where we enjoyed excellent hot food, drinks, impromptu live local folk music and endless card games. It was magical.

They got the best food especially local chicken aka kalash (black wild chicken), and the treatment and hospitality by the employees is one of the best if not the best. I recommend everyone to come and enjoy your visit when you are in Nepal.

I was amazed to see the beauty of Ghandruk while I stayed in this hotel. Really loved the services and the rooms of rock and mud. I also enjoyed the traditional vibes of the hotel though I was a recent built structure. Hoping to visit you again.
